Solopreneurs, coaches, speakers, service professionals business success begins with ambition! | discoveryourpowerteam.com

Solopreneurs, coaches, service professionals: Ambition, a key ingredient for business success!

solopreneur ambition and attitudeAre you an ambitious entrepreneur? In my opinion, business success starts with an entrepreneur who is ambitious and not afraid to take action… the right action.

.

Ambition is often defined as the desire for “power, honour or superiority.”  Some see it as something that is negative or a fault.  However, did you know that ambition can also be defined as the urge to “be something or do something?”  The term has also been defined as something that “requires full use of your abilities.”

.

There was a time, particularly towards the my last few years in my Corporate job, where I had this nudge, some call it an itch, a strong sense that there just had to be more to life than this.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved what I did and enjoyed the people I worked with; however it came to a point where I just knew in my gut, that this was no longer enough for me… that I was meant to do something more. I knew I was meant to contribute something more…some call it finding your true purpose or your calling.

.

And while I will leave the topic of purpose to the experts in the field, the point I want to get across to you is that you don’t have to be arrogant to have ambition, nor do you have to be seeking power or material things.  Having ambition could simply mean you want to use your resources for the betterment of your family or clients or even for the good of all mankind.

.

If you are a business owner who has ambition, meaning you know what you want to do and you know what you’re good at, then you’re off to a great start!

.

Now, some clients I work with wonder if they have the right to stake claim on their ambition.  Some say, “but who am I to start my own business?”  Or, I’ll hear, “but Sherley, there are so many internet marketers out there…” or “there are so many coaches online…”, or “there are so many event planners in the marketplace, what makes me think that I have the right to start this kind of business too? What makes me think that people will need me when there are millions out there offering that same services.  How in the world will I be able to make money doing this?”

.

I urge you to first declare what it is you want to do; then, make peace with that mission.  Allow yourself the possibility of achieving this dream.  There is no room for self doubt here. Do not sabotage your dream by saying things like “That could never happen to me!” or “What if I’m not good enough!”

.

I truly believe that you create your own destiny and have full control over your life. So celebrate your ambition, and let it move you toward success, not sabotage!

.

The next time you hear that voice of doubt in your head, repeat these three little, but powerful words, “Why not me”, and take the leap!

.

To your empowerment and success,

.
