One of the biggest mistakes that many small business owners make when looking at outsourcing work is remaining fixated on, “How much will this cost me?”

 

Don’t get me wrong, it is important to create a budget for your business and identify how much you will invest in not only outsourcing, but also marketing, advertizing, supplies, equipment, personal development, business travel, systems, etc.

 

 

However with each investment, I urge you to identify how it will benefit you and your business.

 

Key Questions

In the case of hiring people to help you in your business, stop for a moment and ask yourself:

• How much is it costing me not to get someone to help me in my business?
• How much is it costing me in missed opportunities?
• How much is it costing me in lost income?
• How much is it costing me in time away from my family and friends?
• How much is it costing me in lost energy?
• How much is it costing me in increased stress, frustration, overwhelm, confusion?
• How much is it costing me to under serve my clients?
• How much is it costing me to keep my business at a standstill because I am the bottleneck?

 

Outsourcing – getting people to help you in your business might just be the best investment you ever make in you and your business!

 

Let’s do the math!

If it takes you 6 hours to set up a sales page for your new group coaching program and your hourly rate is $200 per hour then the set up of this sales page has just cost you $1200. While you may not physically be paying out $1200 to yourself, you did lose one of your most important commodities, your time! You also lost the opportunity to generate revenue for your business!

 

Now let’s say you hired someone who is a web/html expert who takes 2 hours to program the same sales page at $50/hr. Why only 2 hours? Because this is their expertise!

 

This represents an investment of only $100. But not only that! You have just gotten back 6 hours of your time that you can use to gain new clients and generate revenue! If you use that time wisely, you can easily make your investment back 10 times over and then some!
